ZE: Movies and Musicals

Art Contest:
Draw Zuko, Katara, and any other characters you feel necessary in a scene from your chosen movie or musical. In the artist's comments, name the movie or musical, the cast (as in, which Avatar character is representing which of the characters from the movie/musical), and describe the scene. Then, explain a little bit of why you think your movie/musical fits Zutara.

I chose
The Butterfly Lovers - the 2008 movie
Liang Chun-Shan (Wu Chun) - Zuko
Zhu Yan-Gi (Charlene Choi Cheuk-Yin) - Katara
because I always wanted to draw that small pic of the guy carryin the girl pose on the dvd cover. I guess one could consider this movie poster style...
i decided to use color pencils on account of i wanted to try out my skills before using them in ArtI AND.....i didnt wanna color on computer (it takes too longgg).

"How does it fit Zutara?" one may ask...
here's my weird logic ->>>

Liang Chun-Shan and Zhu Yan-Gi are always at odds with each other in the movie (much like zk eating at each other). Overtime, the two discover a deep inner, nearly psychological connection they both share (i guess relates to zk's usual commonalities such as losing mom, bro and sis, tons of clothes.....etc). A love connection is established, only to be blocked off by an opposing side, which is Ma (not pictured here, but i guess could be aang/mai, more aang cuz Ma is for Yan-Gi). Eventually a love battle happens, something leaning towards Romeo&Juliet with that entire drinking poison misunderstanding final battle. The big finish? Chun-Shan is "KILLED", dies for his love for Yan-Gi (relates to Zuko taking the lightning for Katara). And...they both live....or rest in peace together......(aka the unknown future of zutara).

the actual artist comments (if u guys wanna read):
i wanted to draw that bottom pose a loonnggg time ago but never got around to it til now. zuko's been shot...by water tribe arrows. and he's slowing dying, carefully carrying his beloved (and poisoned) katara to their resting place. now with katara and zuko at the top....it jus fits into the entire movie poster idea. katara's crossdressed as a guy but still looks female. zuko is rockin his hot bangs. and color pencils. i love color pencils. but i "miss" my tablet coloring...or do i....lmaoo
